Okay so I have now founded a new great website (okay it's not new, but it is to me) The Bacon institute. It asks if you will invite 5 friends, so I'm inviting all of you. I'll post this as well on the home page. They have everything from Bacon Day (so cool) to Bacon Bee, something I need to find!

We've covered this topic, the Royal Bacon Society has covered this topic, Bacon Today has covered this topic, everyone has covered this topic, but not as fully, not with as much passion, not solely committed to it as the new site I've found called How to cook bacon. They have many new and exciting recipes, including how to can bacon. I have never thought about canning bacon, but now you know how.

I know I've been slack with keeping up on all the new bacon sites (or at least new to me), so with Bacon Day on the way, I'm going to try to make sure to help spread the word on these great sites that have great tips and recipes.

Will Work For Bacon

Will Work For Bacon is a group of friends trying to put together a restaurant dedicated to bacon dishes. This is a bunch after my own heart. If you go to their site, you can find their twitter page as well as their face book page. We hope to follow their progress, and when they open up their shop, go and visit and enjoy some one else cooking the bacon!

This is an amazing site! I love their innovativeness for all things bacon. I'm deffinetly going to use some of their ideas for this years bacon day! Who would have thought to try to mix bacon and red vines or use bacon bits in chocolte to create a beautiful and bacony present for mother's day? The guys at bacon du jour that's who.

Everything I saw on this site was G rated, unless you are a veggie then you might find it disturbing. There were more photos of bacon then you could shake a stick at. It's amazing what people can create using bacon. So if you ever need some ideas, or just want to see massive amounts of bacon check out Baconporn.me

Tee and Cupcakes

There is a wonderful store in Boulder CO called Tee & Cakes which has made national (and if you count us, international) news with their Bacon Cupcakes. They do more then just bacon delights, but if you are in the area why not stop by and have one, or two, or well why not a bakers dozen, but make sure to get there early or reserve some the day before.

It's all about the Bacon

Check out this new site (at least to me it's new) about bacon. They have some great stuff, and a long list of things as well. For example, they have a photo of 6 degrees of bacon... it makes you wonder if some people have maybe have a bit too much free time on their hands... There is a contour map of breakfast, and many more photos, comics, and recipes.

Bacon Geeks This is the site to go to for your bacon reviews. Right now if you go to their site they have up a bunch of reviews for many of the bacon brands you can by on line in the US. I haven't looked to see if they ship overseas at all, but this is a great resource if you are thinking of getting someone special a bacon of the month club membership for x-mass or some top notch bacon to put under the x-mass tree (maybe the one that's out side for refrigeration purposes.)

For a list of most if not all Bacon Candy check out Candy Addict . There are some items I'm not sure I'd be willing to taste (i.e. the fear factor pig out platter), but many other classics such as the chocolate covered bacon.

This has to be one of the greatest blogs of all time... mostly because they featured us, but this is also where I found out that Arrested Development is talking about a movie. Now what could be better? Well, maybe if they had bacon stand instead of their banana stand, but that might be a bit much to ask for. Here it is Art of Function. This is a wonderfully concise and clear site with the definitions of the different types of bacon. There is a quick blurb on the bacon day home page, but here it is again. The one disappointment was that this site does not address the question of whether canadian bacon is bacon.

New Favorite Bacon Site

Everyone should check out MrBaconpants.com It's one of the best Bacon sites I have come across. It doesn't just have great stories about Bacon, but it is very well written (unlike my writing, but we're getting an editor soon, another bacon lover), funny, and informative. This is truly a guy who lives each day with Bacon.
